Billy Walker bottled this Glenallachie Single Cask Whiskey exclusively for the German market. It matured in Oloroso Sherry Puncheon 5139 for 12 years from 2010 to 2022. The Speyside distillery bottled the single malt at cask strength with an alcohol content of 56.6 percent by volume. It convinces as a natural Scotch without coloring and without chill filtration. A total of 697 bottles were filled.

Nosing: The single cask whiskey flatters the nose with notes of cinnamon, grilled pineapple and mocha. Behind it are dried wild berries. Notes of dark chocolate and oranges round off the aroma.

Tasting: The Glenallachie 12 Years Cask 5139 is fruity and sweet on the tongue. It tastes like blackberries. Muscovado sugar resonates. Behind it are roasted almonds and dried figs. Candied sultanas and heather honey introduce the finish.

Finish: The whiskey from the Oloroso sherry cask is fruity and long-lasting. Chocolate and spicy wood linger after drinking.
